“Christians were never called to be perfect they were called to be PERFECTED.”
The mark of an authentic walk of faith is TRANSFORMATION. The essence of every believer’s life should be the tug and pull, the wrestling of spirit and flesh, the cries of the pains of sacrifice and the rest that is found in sweet surrender.
If this is not the case then what then is meant by:
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Rom. 12:2)
“but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, “YOU SHALL BE HOLY, FOR I AM HOLY.” (1Peter 1:15)
“Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.” (1John 3:7)
You see, what God expects from His people is not unattainable. If it were, why would He call us to it? His assurance was that we can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens us (Phil. 4:13). So let’s not stumble unnecessarily over facts and grab hold to what is REAL and TRUE and that is, you CAN be TRANSFORMED and it is the desire of the Father’s heart to watch us grow.
The believer’s life should be marked with STRIVING…a sincere seeking to know Christ more and to be more like him. This intent keep us alert, conscious of our need for God and humbled to always honor Him. It positions us to be pliable as clay in a potter’s hand so that we can be shaped in heart, mind and spirit into a supernatural reality of God that could not be accomplished in our flesh alone. This is how we become over comers in a world with so many ills and such great deception. This is how the TRUE light and power of God is manifested in the earth in ways that cannot be denied.
So, Wake Up! Become ALIVE! FEEL! STRUGGLE! WRESTLE WITH GOD! Don’t be afraid of what you see in your flesh or fear the transitions of growth that the word of God is calling you to… EMBRACE IT! Let each day become a new experience in learning how God’s word and His will for your life stands as a solid rock of truth for everything in life, in the spirit and in things to come.
It’s not about being perfect it’s about being PERFECTED in the light and truth of God’s word and spirit.
