More About the Principle of DECREEING and DECLARING

Farming Faith Vision

This topic has been taught by many prayer generals in the Body of Christ. So I won’t labor over its value as an instrument of prayer. However, HOW this instrument is used could be the difference between night and day in regards to effectual prayer. Well, here’s a simply yet valuable tip on how to practice this spiritual discipline with wisdom and understanding.

Often in prayer we hear the words “I decree and declare…” milked together as a single work in the spirit but in reality each has a distinct purpose in what they are to accomplish through prayer. You see, we are to DECREE the Word of God upon a situation and DECLARE its outcomes. The Word of God is an established law. This powerful law is the spoken and inspired words of God that created mankind and the infinite universes that surround us.  It is the laws of the universe that is holding everything within it perfect order all in harmony, working together. Therefore, we should look to this law and DECREE it into every new situation we encounter from day to day that is contrary to what God has established. As a result of that decree, we should DECLARE our expected outcome.

Now to really understand how this works you will need the faith, discipline and patience of a farmer to cultivate God’s word in order to see results. We learn from the farmer that there is a season for plowing (loosening up the ground), seeding (planting) and harvesting (reaping).  Just like a farmer understands the FULL process of farming and is diligent with every step in order to expect the intended harvest, so must we be if we would look at the principle of Decreeing and Declaring like a farming process. This is how the seeds of faith are planted in the spiritual atmospheres (soil) and why we can be confident to expect its fruit to manifest in the earth. It is good to Decree and Declare and it is even better to learn how to WAIT for your harvest. As with a

It is good to Decree and Declare and it is even better to learn how to WAIT for your harvest.   As with a farmer, it is not as important to know exactly when the harvest will come, as it is to know what must be done to ensure a full healthy harvest.  What is comforting for the farmer is that the seed will most likely show signs of the coming harvest during his waiting period.   but these signs should not predicate his ability to wait.  It is more important for the farmer to simply learn how to rest in the assurance that the harvest will come as a result of proper plowing and planting…with “Signs or No Signs.”  Without this level of confidence, you will learn soon enough the value of knowing how to wait.  In doing so, you will save yourself a lot of unnecessary worry, distractions and bad decisions due to a lack of confidence at what you are doing.

You see, it is during planting season the hardest work is accomplished throrugh faith and hope.  This is the time when the hard ground is broken up and turned over to make it soft enough to plant seed.  In many ways, our challenging circumstances can feel like hard ground and it will require much effort to break it up and turn things over in order to make the investments we desire.  Decreeing and Declaring breaks up the hard ground of our life circumstances.  It will bring things on earth in alignment with the laws in heaven. Understand, this generally doesn’t happen over night.  However, the shift is fascinating to observe over time and only the laws God can accomplish such a miraculous transformation.  Realize, it will require your diligence in the plowing work of Decreeing and Declaring.  So believe it!  Trust it! Remain confident it will produce the harvest you are anticipating.
