What does it mean to be APOSTOLIC?
****Foundation:
What does it mean to be apostolic? Are all believers apostolic? Apostolic it’s not a church denominational identity. Apostolic simply refers to the ministry of the apostle’s as being “SENT ONES.” The word apostolic is a Greek word “apostolos,” meaning a delegate, an ambassador of the gospel, an official commissioner of Christ, a messenger whom God has sent.
Mark 16:15-16 suggest that every believer has been sent therefore, the overall ministry and mission of every child of God is an apostolic one; establishing God’s kingdom in the earth and formed in the same way Jesus groomed and commissioned his disciples to carry out his will in divine purpose presence and power. Acts 2:1-47.
1. When we become born again through Christ Jesus we become Apostolic “PROPHETIC BEINGS.” This is manifested in the believer’s life whereas their bodies now become the temple of the Holy Spirit…a spirit that is prophetic in nature and purpose that testifies of Jesus’ first and second coming and who also bestows upon the believer any variety of nine supernatural gifts that testifies to their life in Christ. This is where many believers begin their walk of faith and unfortunately many conveniently remain due to ignorance or lack of quality discipleship. This walk should be cultivated by the collaborative work of Five-fold ministry leaders. (Usually from either a Church, Ministry, or Apostolic Center). Eph. 4:11-16, Acts 2:1-47, 1Corn. 12:1-31.
2. When we have a recognized call to ministry we begin a prophetic walk of faith that trains us specifically for God’s divine purpose in our lives. This walk of faith takes a shift and becomes divinely designed and unique to you. It is a time of maturing you and the work God has called you to. This stage can take years and too often we ignore the signs of impatience and make regretful mistakes to hurry this process through. This stage involves training, carefully piloting the work, mentoring and spiritual parenting. This is the stage where your five-fold identity truly becomes realized. This walk should be cultivated by the gifted work of Five-fold leaders specific to your call. (Apostle, Prophet, Pastor, Teacher, Evangelist – functioning in the office or ministry level of their call.) Eph. 2:20, 4:11-16,
3. When you are already in ministry it is critical that you are apostolically aligned and protected through accountability, training and personal ministry. The quality of the leaders that surround you will be reflected in the quality of your leadership. Your apostleship will help carry your load and support you in the areas you are still weak in as a growing work. Your apostleship connects you to a common network and defines the charge, mission and mandate everyone is following on their individual platforms. Your apostleship provides accountability, counsel, protection, personal ministry and training so that you may grow stronger and wider in your reach. This level is cultivated by the collaborative work and gifts of the Apostles and Prophets who walk in the office level of their call. Eph. 2:20, John 5:19-23,
Col. 3:15-17
Becoming properly aligned is the first step to a genuine and doctrinally sound kingdom focused ministry or business. The assurance an apostolically aligned work provides is the difference between a manifested work of God in your business or ministry and one that merely hopes for it or talks about it. The foundation to Jesus’ ministry was in his divine alignment with the Father therefore, it is a model and point of launch whereas “all ships sail from here.” Wherever you are in your spiritual walk or call, let this be the foundation from which you build upon.
